Our topic this quarter in Critical Sport Studies is the culture of youth sports. Students in the Anth & Sport (Anth 213) class last Spring expressed interest in this topic. Students will conduct original research and create a group research poster for the UW Undergraduate Research Symposium. Please consider your schedule and availability as you register for this highly interactive course; students are expected to participate fully every day by arriving on time and engaging in discussions with classmates throughout. Students will be challenged to draw on their own experiences and to think about the cultural factors shaping youth sports, but also the role that we all play in shaping culture. There are no lectures in this class, but there will be guest visitors and an emphasis on applying theories and ideas from the readings and course materials.
