Object Identification: The Burke Museum
The Burke Museum offers an Object Identification service where professionals respond to public inquires and help identify found artifacts / objects. Please contact them directly by visiting their website and submitting a request, emailing them at archy@uw.edu, or leaving them a voicemail at (206) 685-3849. If they can’t help you directly, they will be able to point you in the right direction.
Overview
The Burke Museum specializes in artifacts and objects from the Pacific Northwest region and collections staff respond to identification requests on a time-available basis. Please note that we will not appraise your object nor authenticate items for sale. In-person object identification is only available by prior appointment.

The Department of Anthropology does not offer artifact / object identification. We refer all inquiries to the Burke Museum's Object Identification service.
