Justin McCarthy

Camai, atqa Justin McCarthy.  I am Yup'ik Eskimo and Sámi with roots going back to Bethel, Nelson Island, Crooked Creek, and Aniak, Alaska.  I am interested in material studies, ethnoarcheology, ethnohistory, cultural fluency and cultural revivalism; mainly with the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta in Southwest Alaska, but also among the Plateau peoples of the Pacific Northwest.  I am interested in how as Indigenous people we can look to our past to help us maintain our Indigenous life ways and navigate our ever changing world.
