Biography

I grew up in a small town in Iowa and came to graduate school at the UW in 2003, finishing my PhD in archaeology in 2018.  My research interests focus on archaeometry in general and X-ray fluorescence and luminescence dating specifically.  I have experience with fieldwork in Peru, Chile, Corsica, the Netherlands, Iowa, and throughout the Pacific Northwest.  I have also held a wide array of jobs at the UW and within the Washington archaeology private sector, and I am an active member of the Association for Washington Archaeology, having served as both AWA journal editor and treasurer.  For several years, I was a full-time staff archaeologist at the Burke Museum, where I worked closely with local archaeologists, tribal, federal, state, and local government agencies, and the Washington public.  Since 2020 I have worked full-time as a Project Archaeologist at Perteet, Inc. in Seattle
