My research platform focuses on rehabilitation of language disorders following stroke and in particular, understanding the theoretical relationship between phonology (sounds) and word retrieval deficits. Also, in my role as a scholar-administrator, I seek to use the social location of department chair to work towards health disparities as I seek to understand and address systems of oppression in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and to strengthen academic programs in the rehabilitation sciences in low- and middle-income countries.
