Congratulations to John Cady, Fiscal Specialist in the Department of Anthropology, on his nomination for the 2017 Individual Distinguished Staff Award. John, and his fellow nominees, were recognized by the University of Washington President, Ana Marie Cauce, along with members of the UW administrative community, friends, family, colleagues, and other nominees, at a ceremony on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

John has been in the department for ten years, and is a vital part of the everyday lives of students, staff, and faculty. His nomination letter begins, “From the first day I met him he made me proud to work within an institution that is home to folks with such a deep seated practice of integrity, excellence, and respect. He is absolutely a model and mentor in our office. In addition to his work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail, John has a great attitude when faced with challenges, builds and maintains relationships with all he engages with, and he is always smiling.”

It is a well-deserved recognition of an extraordinary employee.

Up to five nominees or teams will be recognized with a prize at the University’s Awards of Excellence ceremony in June.

Good luck John! We’re rooting for you!!
